What is a hepatologist, and how is that different from a gastroenterologist?

A gastroenterologist covers the broader digestive system (esophagus, stomach, intestines, pancreas, etc.). For complex liver conditions, a hepatologist is the specialist to consult.

Does Dr. Madke perform liver transplants himself?
